The Strikers played a strong match against a familiar Sanford Thunder team but ended up on the short end of a 5-2 score. While the score doesn’t show it, the Strikers have continued to improve as a team and played a close match to the end. A few bounces that went the right way or a few more quick passes or strong shots would have made the game very interesting at the end. Once again the Strikers turned up the intensity in the second half of the game by playing aggressive on both sides of the field. The team had numerous scoring chances, especially in the second half and had players in good positions to receive passes. Aggressive defenders, good heading and taking the ball in the air along with strong corner kicks and good one on one moves were on display by the entire team.
