Strikers Face Tough Road Game
The Strikers travel over an hour up to Oxford and end up once again in a fairly close game, but on the short end of a 5-3 score. Oxford was able to score a couple of very early goals on some fortunate bounces and aggressive play early on and while the Strikers made it interesting and improved their intensity as the game progressed they couldn’t quite dig themselves out based on their slow start. Once again as the coaches have commented to the team (and parents) the team needs to keep up the intensity for the entire game. Some definite positives from the game include some good heading, and single touch volleys in the middle of the field. Some set plays off of indirect and direct kicks led to some scoring chances and hints of strong passing were peppered throughout the game.
We also want to congratulate Jason for being the 1st player (for the combined fall and spring season) to hit double digits in assists with 10!
