Triangle Y Soccer Club

What an improvement the girls are making! There was so much passing and communicating throughout this game that each one of the players made several shots on goal.  The girls are also improving individually, gaining more confidence, and showing off some fancy foot skills!

It is great to see the girls understand that looking up isn't just for shooting but also to look around for someone to pass to. We will continute to improve upon taking shots from farther back and following our shots.

The game ball this week went to Evelynn for challenging other players to the ball.

Great game Courage!!!

This game was a great game for the Courage. The biggest difference between last weeks game and this game was how well the girls spaced themselves from each other. They continue to work as a team, talking and passing to each other. There were several shots on goal, we just need to remember to follow up on our shots, and aim for the corners of the goal. 

We will work on strengthening our defense and the communication between the keeper and the team.

The team patch went to Leanne this week for a great performance on defense, keeping the ball away from the other team.

The game ball went to Hannah G. for her determination and improvement in communication with her teammates.

Great game girls!!!

The girls are looking good! The first half the girls were bunching together which made it harder for them to pass and move the ball up the field, however in the second half they corrected themselves and gained possession of the ball for the majority of the game!

Georgie popped out a fantastic goal to start the game 1-0. In the second half the girls were working as a team moving the ball from our defense to the offense for Hannah G to make her 2nd goal with the Courage. This goal was a team effort with Marlee making a great decision to pass to Hannah for a team goal! Veronica looked great on defense. She is new to the team and will continue to work on not crossing the ball across the goal. She made plenty of plays to stop the FVAA Phoenix from getting close to our goal. Caroline was a spectacular keeper this game! She also had many shots on goal when playing offence. Evelynn also had a few shots on goal as did Hannah W. Leanne was on fire setting up many plays for her teammates to follow up on!

Overall this game was an improvement from the first game. We will continue to work on spreading out and taking shots on goal before the girls are face first in the net!

The team patch went to Veronica for not letting a play affect her, and for stepping up on defense!

This week we gave out two game balls (patches. Marlee and Caroline both played their best in this game, which is why they received the game ball patches!

The first game of the season went really well. The girls were wary about playing a FVAA team to kick off the season, but they proved to themselves that they were capable of taking on any team. Cole, Georgie, and Hannah W. all worked with their teammates to make some nice goals.  Caroline, Evelynn, and Marlee all looked great in goal and made many saves. Leanne, Hannah G. and Veronica looked tough on defense, clearing the ball up the field and protecting the goal from the Unicorns offense. Overall, each of these girls have progressed a lot since the first practice and as a team. We will continue to work on communicating to each other on the field and looking up for passes and when dribbling.
