Thank you for registering your child with the Triangle Y Soccer Club. We are excited about having your child with us this season and look forward to you and your family having a positive soccer experience.

Our mission for the soccer league is to create an atmosphere for children and adults, which is accepting, challenging, friendly, fun and safe; where self-confidence can be nurtured as people grow and develop their skills in wholesome surroundings. The Triangle Y Soccer Club is made up of volunteers and Y staff who work together and strive to offer a quality soccer program for youth ages U5 – U15. We look forward to a successful season and hope your family has a wonderful experience.

As we began our season, we hope you will take time to review the information below and become an active participant of our soccer club. Please know that we value everyone’s participation and feedback. This is your club as well, so please let us know if you have ideas or things that we could improve.

Season Information

In addition to the information below, please download this information sheet and refer to it throughout the season.

Parent Expectations

Respect and support the mission and rules of the Triangle Y Soccer Club leagues.

Maintain a positive attitude during practices and games.

Keep open communication between you and your coach.

It is always helpful to know when your child is unable to attend practice or a game.

Promote skill development by working with your child at home.

Help YMCA staff keep fields clean by picking up your “snack trash” after practices and games.

Locations such as Grace Church graciously allow TYSC to use its fields for home games so please respect all fields by keeping them clean and parking/driving in designated spots only.

Be respectful of YMCA staff and referees and the job they are doing. If you have a concern about a call or situation, then please speak with the site director on duty or contact Mark Simmons.

Attend the games and cheer in a positive manner for everyone.

Help the Triangle Y Soccer Club get better by providing your feedback and completing an end of season evaluation.

Have FUN! Remember it is all about your child having a positive soccer experience.

Interested in Being A Team Parent?

The Team Parent serves as an assistant to the coaches, helping in non-coaching ways. This person helps promote and support family and parent involvement in the YMCA Youth Sports Program.

These responsibilities can be accomplished by:

* Initiating a phone call system to remind parents about games, special events or schedule changes, and setting up a snack schedule for each game.

* Helping family members of players get acquainted at games and events.

* Serving as a communication link between parents and coaches.

* Helping parents understand the Triangle Y Soccer Club Sports Philosophy.

* Organizing and planning (with coaches) outside events and the end-of-season celebration (trophies, team banquet, etc.) Trophies will be ordered and provide by the YMCA

* Most of all, this person is an ambassador for the Kraft Family YMCA and the Triangle Y Soccer Club. We need for you to believe in our philosophy and support it with words and actions.

If you are interested in becoming a team parent, please talk with your team’s coach as soon as possible.

TYSC Rules and Regulations

The Triangle Y Soccer Club (TYSC) is a non-profit organization formed to promote and administer a youth soccer program, which includes a participation recreational division and a competitive Challenge division.

TYSC is run by a Board of Directors, (the “Board”) and is a member in good standing of the North Carolina Youth Soccer Association (NCYSA). TYSC is made up of volunteer coaches, parents and a volunteer Board of Directors.

The goal of TYSC is to offer every player the opportunity to participate in and play soccer at his or her own level of competition. Emphasis is placed on the physical, mental, and emotional growth of children through the development of soccer skills, participation in programs and activities of the club, and the providing of positive role models. While team standings may be kept, development, participation, and a positive experience for the players are emphasized.

TYSC has developed these Rules and Regulations to ensure all coaches, parents and players keep with TYSC's philosophy. We ask all parents and coaches to familiarize themselves with these Rules and Regulations.

Game rules can be located by clicking teams and then the appropriate division.

Values' and Officials' Tips

Prior to every game, for leagues U8 and under, the YMCA referee on site will go over a value's and official's tip with your child. We encourage parents to review these and discuss them with your child before the game.
