2010 Spring Season
This season the Lazers recorded just one loss!
The Lazers took part in the NCYSA Challenge Festival and went undefeated with three wins.
2009 Fall Season
This season the Lazers gelled together with their four new team mates, and had an extremely successful season. Going UNDEFEATED - with 8 wins and 3 ties was remarkable - and the only U11 team in the MSSL to do so.
The MSSL tournament was a great experience, unfortunately we got knocked out on a points difference, with one win and two ties and did not make it to the final.
Great effort by all the players.
2009 Seaside Classic
Result: Finalists - www.soccerincollege.com/TTResults.aspx
Games: 7-2, 0-0(rain out), 10-1 and 2-5: Lazers did a fantastic job throughout this tournament, getting to the last two teams of eight, before losing in a tight battle for second place. Couldn't be more proud of the boys or their performances! Great job!
2009 Spring Season
The Lazer's second season together showed a remarkable improvement from their first. Finishing 7-3 for the season, with all losses very tight games - this was the result of hours of hard work put in at practice and a sign of maturing skills and growing confidence as a team.
Two of our younger Challenge soccer teams, the 99 Fury and the 98 Lazers participated in this years Triangle United RBC Fall Classic soccer tournament, as a fun pre-season event, coming home with a well earned second and first place.
The 99 Fury (U11G), a brand new team formed this year and with only one scrimmage game under their belts, exceeded all expectations with a solid 2-2-0 record, making it all the way to the final. Coached expertly by Lisa and Ellen, the team grabbed lots of experience and bonding time and can all be extremely proud of their results in their first ever tournament. Everyone in the program is looking forward to watching their progress during the Fall season.
The 98 Lazers (U12B) rocked the tournament with a perfect 4-0-0 record and a fantastic GF:26 and GA:5 record. The boys came out of the starting blocks strongly and never wavered or slowed down, quickly becoming the team to beat in their age bracket. Coached by Magnus, Beanie and Rich - a mixture of great possession, strong defense and cohesive team-work – paid off in results and entertaining soccer. Goals were shared by 9 of the 12 players and their new motto: “defend deep, attack wide, shoot hard” was born.
Great game in Sanford.
